ABOUT

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to bake.  When I was a little girl I used to come home from school and mix up a packet of my favorite Jello pudding while pretending I was a chef on my own cooking show.  Some of my favorite childhood memories are watching my mom or my 
Grandmothers bake and cook.  I remember wanting to learn as much as I could so that one day I could recreate special treats for my kids too.  

My true obsession with cakes and all things baking began in college while watching Chocolate Obsession week on the food network.  I loved seeing the detail and creativity in every element of each delicious cake, pastry, and chocolate.  During and after college, I put my Hospitality degree to good use while working in the hotel industry, honing my customer service skills.  

However, it wasn’t long before that obsession for baking crept back into my mind.  I took a few cake decorating classes and I decided to enroll in the Baking and Pastry Arts program at Forest Park Community College.  In 2013, First Tier Cakes became my home-based baking business.  

I love to get lost in the creation of every detail of a cake. It is great joy being able to interpret a client’s inspiration and style and create something truly unique that leaves them awed.
